Blackwater Mojo to Perform at December Brown Bag

Local Reso-Phonic Stomp Rock group Blackwater Mojo will perform at the next Randolph County Community Arts Center’s Brown Bag Concert Wednesday, December 21 at noon. This free monthly event is sponsored by the Davis Trust Company.

Seth and Erin Young, known collectively as Blackwater Mojo, derive their unique sound from their primary instrument, a National tri-cone steel resonator guitar.  Their music has been described as “rock de-evolved,” taking modern music back to its pre-war roots in the blues.

The duo has toured extensively throughout the eastern United States, as well as brought their sound to Easter Island, Europe, and Southeast Asia.

Seth Young, from Elkins, plays a multitude of instruments with many area bands.  A passionate music educator, he teaches general music, band, and choir at Jennings-Randolph Elementary in Randolph County and works with the youth of Elkins as the director of the lab band program at the Randolph County Community Arts Center.

Erin Young has performed with many different bands throughout her musical career.  A professional at 16, she has performed with a number of theatre companies throughout her native Ohio.

Blackwater Mojo will release their long awaited debut album Cold Holler this winter.
