RCCAC Gala Juried Art Exhibition

The work of 30 artists will be on display when the Randolph County Community
Arts Center presents its ninth annual Gala Juried Art Exhibition September 10 - 29.

The opening reception and award presentation will be part of the RCCAC’s
annual Gala celebration held Friday, Sept. 10 at 6 p.m. Tickets can be
purchased by phone with credit card or in person at the RCCAC office.

The juror for this exhibit is Jo Gaston. An art educator for more than 20
years, Gaston received her bachelor’s degree in art from Missouri State
University and her master’s degree from The Colorado College. A resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado, she creates watercolors of ranch and garden subjects she has known since childhood. The realistic details of her
paintings make her subjects easily recognizable. While presenting subjects
realistically, however, she uses light and color freely to intensify her
impressions of the abstract forms inherent in those subjects.

Her work has been shown in many regional and national juried shows such as the Grand National Rodeo Celebration of Western Art - San Francisco, Texas Watercolor Society International Exhibition, and the Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club Exhibition – New York.

She is a member of both the American Watercolor Society (AWS) and the National Watercolor Society (NWS) and a past president of the Pikes Peak Watercolor Society and a signature member of the Pikes Peak Watercolor Society, the Kansas Watercolor Society, and the Northwest Watercolor Society.
