78th Mountain State Forest Festival Juried Art Exhibition
The Annual Juried Art Exhibit during the 78th Mountain State Forest Festival will be on display from October 1 thru November 20, 2014. The event will be hosted by the Randolph County Community Arts Center and Seneca Trail Artists’ Guild. Opening Reception will be from 6 - 9 p.m. on Wednesday, October 1st.
Only hand-delivered entries may be submitted. Work will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at the arts center, located on the corner of Randolph Avenue and Park Street in Elkins. The exhibit is open to West Virginia residents 18 years of age or older. Students in grades K-12 are asked to please select “Student Show” on the entry form. All artwork must have been created in the last two years. All work meeting guidelines will be exhibited during the Festival. Juried artwork will hang thru November 19.
The juror for this exhibit will be Bradley Schmehl of York, PA. He is a graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Art and Design. At various times in his career he has been an easel painter, a book illustrator, a threatrical scenic designer and a technical illustrator. His military history paintings have drawn him much acclaim. Many reside in private and corporate collections throughout the United States. He exhibited 5 of his Civil War paintings in 2011 in the RCCAC’s exhibit commemorating the sesquicentennial of the Civil War, “Echoes of the Past: the Civil War 150 Years Later.”
