RCCAC Gala Juried Art Exhibition winners named
Award winners were announced and more than $1,500 in prize money was presented at the Randolph County Community Arts Center’s ninth annual Gala celebration Sept. 10 in Elkins.
Juror Jo Gaston chose the winners from the work of 30 artists displayed in the annual Gala Juried Art Exhibition, which will run through Sept. 29.

Best of Show, and a cash prize of $500, was awarded to Chet Lowther for his untitled acrylic work. |

First Place, and $300, was awarded to Michael Doig for his oil painting “Ramp Digger”. |

Second Place, and $200, was awarded to Monica Wilkins for her watercolor “One Cow Walking”. |

Third Place, and $100, was awarded to Karen Ward for her oil on canvas “Bluemont”. |

The Elkins Regional Convalescent Center Award, and $250, was awarded to Deborah McHenry for her watercolor and crayon work “Morning Arrives”. |

Gaston has been an art educator for more than 20 years and is a member of both the American Watercolor Society (AWS) and the National Watercolor Society (NWS).
The exhibit will be open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Also on display is a solo exhibition by Elkins artist Margo Blevin Denton in the Maxwell Gallery. Denton’s exhibit will be on display through Nov. 17.
This year’s Gala Exhibit is sponsored by the Elkins Regional Convalescent Center, located on the Beverly Five Lane - South of Elkins. ERCC is a non-profit organization dedicated to nursing home services for both skilled
and intermediate care residents.
The RCCAC, a non-profit organization promoting and supporting the arts in Randolph County and the surrounding areas, is located at the corner of Randolph Avenue and Park Street in Elkins.
