Arts Center offering collectible note cards featuring local art

The Randolph County Community Arts Center is now offering for sale a series of eight collectible note cards featuring original artwork by local artists. Each of the cards features an artist's interpretation of the Arts Center, located in the former St. Brendan Catholic Church.

The art featured on the note cards was created by Brenda Bonnes, Kadra Casseday, Grace DePollo, Marjory Moses, Nadine Nicely, Maggi Rhudy, Ken Waddell and Larisa Wells.

“For our mortgage burning celebration last spring, many artists in the community created and donated original works of art, both two- and three-dimensional,  representing our historic building,” said Beth King, executive director of the RCCAC. “From these works we chose eight images to be the beginnings of our note card series.  The many different interpretations of the building are a wonderful collection of work by local artists. All the images are clearly the Arts Center but the images are rendered in very diverse ways.

The cards can be purchased in packages of two for $4, or all 8 can be purchased together for $14. All proceeds from the sale of the note cards will directly benefit the RCCAC. Call the RCCAC office at 637-2355 or log onto www.randolpharts.org for more information.

The RCCAC, a non-profit organization promoting and supporting the arts in Randolph County and the surrounding areas, is located at the corner of Randolph Avenue and Park Street in Elkins. The RCCAC is supported by the National Endowment of the Arts and the West Virginia Division of Culture and History. Call the RCCAC office at 637-2355 for information on its arts education classes, exhibits, concert series, and children’s concert series.
