RCCAC Seeks Exhibitors for Annual Holiday Arts Market

The Randolph County Community Arts Center invites area artists, musicians and writers to participate in the Annual Holiday Arts Market on Friday, Dec. 3 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. in the Great Hall of the Arts Center. Participants must be current RCCAC members and artwork must be their original work.

Interested artists should call the RCCAC office ordownload the registration form to fill out an application to reserve tables and display panels. Space is limited and will be filled on a first come, first serve basis. The deadline for reservations is Friday, Nov. 12.

Past markets have included items such as CDs, paintings in a variety of mediums, pillows, dolls, embroidered pieces, notecards, matted and framed photographs, bags, hats, jewelry, scarves, bookmarks, dyed fiber art, ceramics, woven goods, musical instruments, turned wooden items, and postcards.

"This is a wonderful opportunity for local artists, musicians, and writers to get their work out to the community," noted RCCAC Executive Director Beth King. “In addition to offering a most unique collection of gifts for the holiday, the market is a great time for artists — and those that love the arts — to visit with one another and support the arts in our community. This is one of the Arts Center staff's favorite events of the year.”

The Holiday Arts Market will coincide with the Downtown Christmas Celebration and Parade on Dec. 3. This will be the eighth annual Holiday Arts Market, and the event has regularly brought in hundreds of customers. RCCAC volunteers will provide coffee and refreshments for guests.

Artists, musicians and writers who are not RCCAC members are invited to become members of the Arts Center.  Memberships are available beginning at $30 per year. Member benefits include a listing on the RCCAC Artist and Musician Registry on the RCCAC website, reduced entry fee to the RCCAC’s juried exhibits, notification of member’s only exhibit and performance opportunities at RCCAC, notification of exhibit and performance opportunities outside of RCCAC, notification of grant opportunities, an invitation to participate in the Annual Holiday Arts Sale and more. A complete list of artist member benefits is available in the RCCAC office or on the RCCAC website, www.randolpharts.org.

The RCCAC, a non-profit organization promoting and supporting the arts in Randolph County and the surrounding areas, is located at the corner of Randolph Avenue and Park Street in Elkins, and receives financial assistance from the West Virginia Division of Culture and History, and the National Endowment for the Arts, with approval from the West Virginia Commission on the Arts.
