Emily Prentice, Solo Exhibition
Reception is Saturday, December 16, from 4 to 6 pm.
Rhopalium is the decentralized nervous system of certain types of jellyfish. It’s a structure that helps them perceive light and gravity in a limitless aquatic world.
Rhopalium is also an art show, put together by Emily Prentice, who owns an art shop called Mycelium. Rhopalium and mycelium are incredibly similar; they web and communicate intelligently in a way that’s hard for humans to perceive. This show is about that: the mysterious systems that make up our underwater ecosystems, and the knowledge that looks like magic when we don’t understand it. (This show is also about magic.)
