Art Instructor for the Arts Center

Job Description:
We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic artist, to join our team. The Art Center is seeking art instructors for children, teen, and adult classes. In-person opportunity. Previous teaching experience is preferred, but not required.

Our classrooms are your classroom and the ideal place to instruct art to our community. This is your opportunity to create a class that is tailored to your needs. Classes and workshops are what you make them. Fun is the biggest requirement!

Classes and workshops in any of the following mediums: pottery, ceramics, stained glass, fused glass, baskets, painting (watercolors, acrylic, oils), mixed media and other non traditional art forms.

The Arts Center advocates for a greater understanding of the visual arts through the promotion of art education, exhibition, and community engagement.

Responsibilities:

  • Engage with students and families and build rapport.

  • Classroom encouragement with students. Provide assistance and guidance to students with their art projects in class.

  • organization and structure with art projects

  • Classroom management with positive reinforcement and good time management with projects based on the length of time you created for the class.

  • Collaborate with the Arts Center to ensure a safe, positive, and enriching experience for all students.

Qualifications:

  • Passion for the arts and working with people

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents and fellow staff members.

  • Reliability, consistency and punctuality is a must

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing needs.

  • Prior experience working with children or in a classroom setting is preferred.

  • Art degree is a bonus! Art knowledge and experience in field you instruct is a requirement. Some artists possess lifelong experience in their field and that is truly a gift!

Requirements:

  • Adhere to the Arts Centers Child Protection Policy and other policies of the Arts Center

  • Obtain clearances: Criminal Record Background Check that adheres too and supports our Child Protection Policy. The Arts Center will assist you in obtaining these clearances if needed.

  • Utilize the “Instructor Call” proposal form to submit your class proposal

  • Commitment to the class dates and times you scheduled.

  • Exude professionalism in the classroom setting. Vocal ambassador for the Arts Center.

  • HS Diploma

Schedule:

Instructors design the class and schedule including the dates, times, and length of a class or workshop. Tons of flexibility. You are in charge of your art class.

Pay: You request your goal amount in proposals! We will work with you on your needs!
