Macie Higgins

Elkins based potter, Macie Higgins, has been honing her skills in clay since 2010. Originally pursuing a degree in physical therapy, Macie switched gears in college, choosing to follow her true passion for art and particularly ceramics.

Macie is a small batch potter, creating unique ceramic works from her home studio using both wheel throwing and hand building techniques. She has a particular interest in the use of color and texture in her work. Macie’s work is always evolving due to her interest in learning new techniques and her joy in experimentation.

Macie began instructing pottery classes at the Arts Center in the summer of 2014, and she truly enjoys being able to share her passion and expertise with the people in her community.
